Meet Victory and Reacher—two very special therapy dogs serving the York City Police Department and the greater York community.
🐾 Victory works alongside Community Engagement Officer Michael Reinert, offering comfort to crime victims—especially children—and helping bridge connections between the police and the public. Whether visiting downtown businesses, greeting residents, or supporting those in crisis, Victory brings calm, compassion, and approachability wherever she goes.
🐾 Reacher, partnered with Officer Jonathan Hatterer, has a unique role at WellSpan York Hospital. Sworn in as a York City Police K9, Reacher provides support to patients, families, medical staff, and first responders—helping to ease stress and bring moments of comfort in challenging times.
Together, Victory and Reacher represent the heart of community policing in York. Through outreach, mental health support, and de-escalation, these dogs play an invaluable role in strengthening community relationships and providing comfort where it’s needed most.
